Why the 8-ball?

I was lucky to grow up in a two-story house with a pool table on the second floor. And when I was little, I had one favorite move: grab the 8-ball off the table and send it flying down from the second floor — just to watch it drop. Every time. That ball survived a childhood of abuse and somehow became the mascot. So when it came time to put my work online, the name picked itself.
